Why WORD?

As patients and their families become more knowledgeable and committed to finding answers, the better care they'll receive.   Because of this, patients need to know how to talk to their doctor and what questions to ask... They need to be empowered to be advocates of their own care.  WORD is all about bringing this necessary education and research toward this disease.

What are your day-to-day responsibilities?

As a whole, I advise WORD on what scientific ventures to pursue. I help evaluate current research that is being conducted and help evaluate the greatest good that WORD can do.

When I'm not buried in research, you’ll likely find me reading science fiction, spending time with my three children, or cheering on University of Michigan football.
